34% of Windows 10 devices still not updated to Creators Update version

The next feature update of Windows 10, the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, is just weeks away. It appears though however that over 35% of Windows 10 devices are not running the last feature update, the Windows 10 Creators Update.

YouTube’s improved Blur Faces tool launches

Ryan Stevens, Software Engineer at YouTube, announced today that YouTube has updated the service's Blur Faces tool to improve its accuracy and ease of use.

YouTube introduced a face blurring tool back in 2012 as a feature to anonymize faces in videos. The feature blurred all faces that the algorithm detected automatically which limited the use of the feature significantly.

WinRAR 5.50 released with important changes

WinRAR 5.50 was released on August 14, 2017. The new version comes with important changes that users of the application need to be aware of.

Probably the two biggest changes of WinRAR 5.50 are that the program uses the RAR 5.0 archive format by default when it comes to the creation of archives, and the new master password option to protect saved password records by using encryption.

I decided on a spur of the moment whim that I wanted to try out a distribution I had never touched before.

I’ve tried countless systems over the years, from the typical Ubuntu and Debian based systems, to Arch based systems like Manjaro, even Gentoo based systems like Sabayon.

However, I was thinking about it and OpenSUSE used to be one of my favourite distributions to use but I’ve never actually sat down and tried a respin of an OpenSUSE based system; so I started digging around into what some popular ones were...And Gecko Linux caught my eye.

Windows 10 Build 16257: fixes Edge annoyance, introduces Eye Control

Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 16257, a new preview build of the upcoming Fall Creators Update for Windows 10, yesterday evening.

The new version introduces a new Eye Control feature, designed to improve accessibility by adding options to control Windows with eye movement, Microsoft Edge improvements, a color overhaul for the Windows Console, input and Windows Defender Application Guard improvements, and bug fixes.

You cannot downgrade Firefox 55 profiles

If you have upgraded a version of Firefox to version 55 or newer, you won't be able to downgrade that version of the browser later on to an older version.

While Mozilla never really supported downgrades of the browser before, it was usually no problem to downgrade a particular version of the Firefox browser.

There are two main use cases where this happens: first, when a release version of Firefox causes issues, and when users use the same profile on different versions of the browser.

Windows 10 Version 1703 KB4032188 Cumulative Update

Microsoft released KB4032188 today, a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1703, the Creators Update version of the Windows 10 operating system.

The cumulative update is already distributed through Windows Update, and also available as a standalone download at the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
