MovieDay for Android keeps track of upcoming movies for you

If you like to watch movies, you are probably keeping an eye on upcoming movies that you are interested in.

Maybe it is one of the new Star Wars movies that is coming out, the next Marvel flick or something completely different.

Whatever it is, you may find an app like MovieDay for Android useful as it assists you in keeping track of all the upcoming movies you are interested in.

The app requires no extra permissions during installation, something that is always nice to see.

If you ever tried to play a video DVD on Microsoft's new operating system Windows 10 you may have noticed that the system itself ships without capabilities to do so.

You are then redirected to the Store where you can buy Microsoft's official application for that or pick another app that provides the functionality.

Make your Windows 10 taskbar 100% transparent

Classic Shell is a long standing program to replace various Windows interface elements, the Start Menu and Windows Explorer for instance, with classic versions.

While it was provided before the release of Windows 8, it really took off when Microsoft released the operating system with its new fullscreen Start interface.

Classic Shell was one of the programs that users of the operating system could install to regain access to a start menu they were familiar with.

Remove or restore Windows 10 default apps with 10AppsManager

Microsoft's new operating system Windows 10 ships with a truckload of default applications of which some replace functionality of programs previous versions of Windows shipped with, the calculator application comes to mind, while others introduce new functionality.

Depending on how you use your computer system, you may have use for none, some or maybe even all of these applications.

Gog is having an Indie Pinata game sale you may want to check out

Online game store gog.com announced a week long Indie Pinata event yesterday that combines game deals with options to get mystery games.

I check gog.com first whenever I want to purchase a game before I look elsewhere. Core reasons for that are that games are offered without any form of digital rights management on gog, that it has a 30 day money back guarantee, that it does not just replace the Dollar sign with an Euro sign in its store, and that it often offers tons of extras for games.

If you compare Apples and Oranges, at least be thorough

Comparisons can be useful in decision making processes. Compare the battery life of various notebooks that you consider buying, Android flagships and their functionality and technology, or how games play and look like on PC and console.

Some comparisons make little sense on the other hand, for instance the comparison of an Android tablet and the iPhone, or a computer mouse to a keyboard.

A recent PC Magazine article compared Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, a typical apples and oranges comparison.

Mozilla postpones Firefox add-on signing enforcement

Mozilla announced back in February 2015 that the decision was made to introduce add-on signing to Firefox's extension system.

The idea behind the move was to eliminate the majority of malicious or invasive extensions by making add-on signatures mandatory.

Signatures are only generated for add-ons which go through a review process on Mozilla's official add-ons store before they are pushed to the store.

Since malicious extensions would fall through the cracks, it should reduce a number of common issues that Firefox users face day in day out.

Microsoft needs to fix Windows Store and the universal app platform

If you try to open Windows Store right now on a system running Windows 10 (I have not tested it on a Windows 8 machine) you will notice that the Store window pops up shortly and exits again without any sign of Store running on the system afterwards.

This means that one central -- for Microsoft maybe the most central and important part of the operating system -- is not working properly as we speak.

Windows Store is built as an application just like any other apps that come pre-installed with Windows 10 or apps that you install from the Store or by side-loading them.
