LogMeIn acquires LastPass password manager

LastPass, the company behind the popular cloud-based password manager LastPass, just announced that it has been acquired by LogMeIn, a company known for products such as Hamachi, Cubby or its line of remote support applications.

According to the announcement, the LastPass team continues to work on its product including the free version which will remain available for the time being.

If you are running Windows 7 or 8 and don't want to upgrade to Windows 10, you are in constant battle with updates that Microsoft is pushing out to those systems that are often labeled compatibility updates but appear to be designed mainly for getting users to upgrade their systems to Windows 10 or adding snooping capabilities introduced in Windows 10 to previous versions of Windows.

Batter Limiter is a free program for the Windows operating system that you can utilize to set a battery charge threshold. The software notifies you when the threshold is reached so that you can unplug the charger and prevent charging the battery when it is already at that threshold.

Mozilla announces the end of NPAPI plugins in Firefox

Mozilla just announced an updated roadmap for the removal of NPAPI plugin support in Firefox and Firefox ESR. According to information posted by Benjamin Smedberg on the official Mozilla blog, plans are underway to remove NPAPI support by the end of 2016.

There is one exception to the rule and that is Adobe Flash. While support for all other NPAPI plugins is being removed in Firefox at the end of 2016, support for Adobe Flash remains available after that date.

Latest Chrome Canary is completely broken (Aw, Snap! on all pages)

I have been running Chrome Canary as a browser on my Windows system for a long time as it provides me with a glimpse of things to come.

While I don't use the browser for anything important due to its early stage in development, I never really ran into huge issues until now when using it despite that.

That changed yesterday when Chrome Canary suddenly started to display Aw, Snap!, Something went wrong while displaying this webpage on all pages open in the browser.
