Google Safe Browsing comes to Android and Google Chrome mobile

Google announced today that it has Safe Browsing protection to "hundreds of millions of Chrome users on Android".

Safe Browsing is a protective service used by Google in Google Chrome but also in third-party browsers such as Firefox or Safari that checks visited web pages against a database of malicious Internet sites. This is done by comparing hash values against each other to improve privacy.

The browser displays a warning page if a hit is recorded to inform the user about the potentially malicious website.

Firefox Hello: Contacts to be removed, Tab Sharing on by default

Major changes are coming to Firefox Hello, the built-in video-, audio- and text chat service of the Firefox web browser. Mozilla plans to remove the contacts functionality from Firefox Hello in version 44 of Firefox, and to change the tab-sharing functionality in Firefox 45 significantly by activating it by default.

SpyDetect Free reveals if you are being monitored

SpyDetect Free is a free program for Windows that answers the two simple questions "Am I being spied on" and "Am I being monitored" when you run it on your device.

There are numerous ways to track users, from built-in operating system or software features to borderline-malicious tracking apps and programs that are outright malicious in nature.

It is difficult to find out whether you are being tracked -- chance is quite good that you are to an extent -- and even more so for users with little computing experience.

You can delete games from your Steam library now (but should not)

Most Steam users I know have accumulated an impressive number of games over their account's lifespan which can be attributed more often than not to frequent sales and binge buying of games as well as bundled offers that sometimes add more than ten games to an account.

I have added more than 170 games to my Steam account in the ten years that I have been a user of the service, and that does not include add-ons and DLC.

Many games have either been bought during sales, or as part of a bundle that I wanted one or two games of only.

How to customize the homescreen of Xiaomi devices

I have to say that I'm very happy with my Xiaomi Mi4c Android phone which I bought in October 2015 after using a Motorola Moto G First Generation for two years straight.

I picked the phone for a number of reasons that included price, hardware, battery life, the security app, the form factor and easy rooting and customization options.
