Windows 10: load the touch-optimized File Explorer

File Explorer is the default file browser on Windows 10. It is more or less a renamed Windows Explorer, as it looks and behaves pretty much like the decade old file browser.

The new File Explorer is launched on desktop PCs and notebooks that run Windows 10. That's usually not a problem unless you happen to use a touch-enabled interface, and work without mouse regularly or occasionally.

Recent versions of the Windows 10 operating system ship with a touch-optimized File Explorer that you may run in these situations.

How to Update Google Chrome

Most Chrome users will probably never run into problems updating Google Chrome as the browser is configured to update automatically by default.

Fix for disabled add-ons in Firefox Nightly

If you run Firefox Nighly and use add-ons, you may have noticed that some may have been disabled automatically after the latest update of the browser.

When you open the add-ons manager, and then one of the add-ons that has been disabled automatically, a reason is displayed why it has been disabled.

The Dictionary Switcher add-on for instance displayed the following information: "Dictionary Switcher has been disabled since it is not multiprocess compatible".

Windows 10 Build 16188: Cortana in Settings, PDF form filling in Edge

Microsoft pushed the Windows 10 Build 16188 to the Fast Ring Insider channel today that is already available via Windows Update.

The new build comes with plenty of new features and changes., including more PDF capabilities of Microsoft Edge, the moving of Cortana's options to the Settings application, updated Magnifier settings, and the Enterprise-only Windows Defender Application Guard feature.

Google migrates 32-bit versions of Chrome to 64-bit on Windows

Google released an update to the Chrome browser's stable channel yesterday that brings the version of the browser to 58.0.3029.96. According to the company, the update will roll out to all devices running Chrome in the coming weeks.

A new Chrome release is not all that spectacular usually, but this one is for a subset of Chrome users on Windows devices.
