Microsoft Windows Security Updates June 2018 release overview

It is June 12, 2018 and that means it is time for another Microsoft Patch Day overview. Microsoft releases security updates for its products on the second Tuesday of every month.

The overview offers information on all security and non-security updates that Microsoft released today as well as details about known issues, published security advisories, and the distribution of updates for all supported client and server operating systems and Microsoft's browsers.

How to repeat (loop) YouTube Videos automatically

If you like a particular video on YouTube very much, you may want to play it over and over again using some sort of repeat functionality.

Problem is, most users don't know that YouTube supports native loop functionality on the desktop . While you can hammer on the play button again as soon as the video ends, it is not the most comfortable of options as it requires manual action on your part.

Windows 10's new "install on my devices" Store feature

You can use the built-in Microsoft Store application of the Windows 10 operating system to install apps and games on your Windows 10 devices. Up until now, that was only possible for the active device if you used the Store directly.

All you had to do was open the Store application directly to install any app or game on the Windows 10 device. If you wanted an application to become available on all of your Windows 10 PCs, you had to run the install command from Microsoft Store on each device individually.

Windows 10: play a sound when you activate special keys

Hitting the Num Lock, Caps Lock, or Scroll Lock keys on the computer keyboard by accident can lead to undesirable consequences. You may wonder why you cannot type numbers in the Calculator when using the number pad on the keyboard after hitting Num Lock, or why your password is not accepted after activating Caps Lock by accident.

While you can add programs like NumCapsScroll Indicator that highlight which of the special key is activated on the device, you may also configure Windows 10 to play a sound whenever one of the keys is pressed on the keyboard.

Monitor your Windows PC's performance while playing games

AgaueEye is a free hardware and performance monitor for Microsoft Windows devices that is geared specifically towards gamers.

The program displays performance and hardware related information in real-time, may display an overlay in supported games, and keep track of the performance to display the performance history of the device.

Add domain and icon to Gmail's email listings

Gmail Sender Icons is a browser extension for the Google Chrome web browser that adds domain information and icons to Gmail's email listings.

Gmail does not display any information about the sender of the email except for the selected name. The name is no good indicator, however, as it can be selected freely by the sender of the email.

Mozilla plans to push Tracking Protection in Firefox

Mozilla plans to push the built-in Tracking Protection feature of the organization's Firefox web browser in the coming releases.

Firefox will display Tracking Protection options in the browser's user interface more prominently, and Mozilla plans to rename the feature to Smart Blocking eventually as it will block other potentially unwanted content in the future as well.

Malwarebytes' acquisition of Windows Firewall Control maker Binisoft

Security firm Malwarebytes announced last month on May 24, 2018, that it acquired the privately held Romanian company Binisoft, best know for its Windows Firewall Control security product.

Windows Firewall Control is a standalone security product for supported versions of Microsoft's Windows operating system that adds better Windows Firewall management capabilities to the operating system.
