Configure Firefox to accept third-party cookies for the session only

Third-party cookies are still widely used on today's Internet to track users across browsing sessions and sites they visit. While the reach of the tracking depends on the popularity of a service -- it needs to be implemented in as many sites as possible -- it is fair to say that if you allow third-party cookies to roam freely you will be tracked.

Firefox exposes only some of its cookie options in the browser options. You can block third-party cookies entirely or allow them only for sites you visited in the past.

Iridium gives you more control on YouTube

Iridium is an open source browser extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox that gives you more control on YouTube.

YouTube gives users only a handful of customization options and many of those are not remembered over sessions or when you don't sign in to an account.

Burner Emails for Firefox and Chrome

Burner Emails is a free browser extension and web service that adds options to Firefox and Chrome to create throwaway email addresses.

Spam is still a big issue on the Internet and while email providers like Google or Microsoft got better at identifying spam emails so that these don't even land in your inbox, it is still fair to say that most Internet users will encounter spam on a regular basis if email is used.

Bypass link shortener URLs that require action

Universal Bypass is an open source browser extension for the Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers that bypasses intermediary pages created by link shorteners so that you don't have to interact with these pages and get to the actual target of the link right away.

Two types of URL shortening services exist on the Internet: services that provide a short version of any URL and redirect users directly to the link target on load, and services that display intermediary pages, usually filled with advertisement or requests to sign-up.

How to use a Ram Disk in Windows

You may install a Ram disk on your Windows PC to improve performance, maintenance, and privacy on the device.

Ram disks can best be described as memory-based drives that act just like any other hard drive on the system for the most part. You can install programs on RAM disks or use it to store temporary files.

These disks offer advantages over regular hard drives: memory is faster which means that operations will benefit from that. Memory is cleared automatically on shutdown so that any files that reside on the disk are removed automatically.

While it is not 100% certain that Sets will make an appearance in a few months -- the feature update will be released in September/October -- it is already possible to give this a try in recent Windows 10 Insider builds.
