Microsoft: fix security issue with non-security update. Instructions point to non-existent KB page

Can things get any worse than this? Microsoft published a security advisory yesterday -- ADV190005 | Guidance to adjust HTTP/2 SETTINGS frames -- which affects Windows Server running Internet Information Services (IIS).

The security issue could be abused to cause CPU usage to increase to 100% until the malicious HTTP/2 "connections are killed by IIS".

Microsoft: Don't buy Office 2019

It is rare that a company advises its customers to avoid a product that they produce.

It sounds like a bad business decision, but that is exactly what Microsoft attempts to do with a series of videos that highlights why customers should not buy the company's new Office version Office 2019 but subscribe to the company's Office 365 product instead.

Microsoft published a series of videos to hammer the point home; called The Twins Challenge, Microsoft gave identical twins the same tasks to see how they would perform them in Office 2019 and Office 365.

Find duplicate photos with Find.Same.Images.OK for Windows

Find.Same.Images.OK is a free portable software program for Microsoft's Windows operating system to find duplicate photos (and any other image dupes) quickly.

Unless you are very careful when it comes to download images or transferring images from digital cameras, smartphones and other devices, you will end up with duplicate images eventually.

Sometimes, that is desired, e.g. for backup purposes. At other times, it may cause issues such as lower than expected free disk space on drives or productivity issues when it comes to finding photos.

Containers with Transitions makes Firefox Containers more useful

Containers with Transitions is a brand new Firefox extension that improves the functionality of Mozilla's own Multi-Account Containers extension for Firefox.

Mozilla launched Containers as a Firefox Test Pilot project in 2017; the organization did not integrate Containers natively after the Test Pilot project ran its course but released the Multi-Account Containers extension instead. Firefox users who wanted to make use of Container functionality in the browser could install the extension to add support for it to the browser.
