Stop Resetting My Apps blocks default apps resets on Windows 10

Stop Resetting My Apps is a free program for Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system to block the system from resetting default programs for certain tasks.

One of Windows 10's biggest usability issues is that the operating system may reset some or even all default apps or file associations after operating system updates.

Windows 10 updates KB3197954, KB3199986 and KB3190507

Microsoft released a number of updates for Windows 10 version 1607 yesterday: KB3197954, KB3199986, KB3190507 and the security update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows KB3201860.

If you are running the latest version of Windows 10, the Anniversary Update version, then those updates may already be installed on the machine.

This depends largely on the update settings of the PC. If you have not disabled automatic updates, it is likely that the updates are already installed.

Can Mozilla’s Quantum project make Firefox king again?

The browser world has changed considerably since the release of the first version of the Google browser Google Chrome.

Google Chrome managed to snag a sizeable share of the browser market not only on the desktop but also on mobile.

Google pushed Chrome hard on its properties and via third-party agreements (Flash pushes Chrome up to this day), but that was just one part of why Chrome is used by the majority of Internet users on today's Internet -- at least on the desktop.

Microsoft Paint vs Paint 3D Comparison

Microsoft plans to launch a new Paint app called Paint 3D with the Windows 10 Creative Update in early 2017.

It is unclear yet if Microsoft plans to replace the win32 version of Paint that was part of all recent and not so recent versions of Windows with the application version Paint 3D, or if both will remain available at least for some time.

As a user of Windows 10, and Paint in particular, you are probably wondering how Paint 3D compares to the classic Paint desktop application.

Pale Moon 27 changes announced

The Pale Moon team is working on Pale Moon 27 currently, the next version of the popular web browser that shares code with Firefox.

As you may know, the Pale Moon team uses a different versioning scheme than Mozilla as it ups the integer part (characteristic) of the version only when major versions are released, and otherwise only the fractional-part (mantissa).

IOBit Advanced SystemCare 10 Free review

IOBit Advanced SystemCare 10 Free is the latest iteration of the all-in-on cleanup and optimization suite for Windows devices.

While the new version does not ship with many new features, there is only FaceID and it has limited uses, most of the tools that the suite ships with have been improved.

As far as FaceID is concerned, it is added to Advanced SystemCare's ever growing list of protection tools. FaceID requires a web cam that is connected to the PC. Once set up, it will monitor the PC for unauthorized use using facial recognition technology.

Microsoft’s Surface Dial

Microsoft did showcase several new pieces of hardware on yesterday's event including the company's first desktop PC Surface Studio and an accompanying Surface Dial.

Surface Dial, which looks like a Hockey puck, is a standalone device that is included in Surface Studio preorders for a limited time, and also available for purchase on the Microsoft Store website for $99.

My take on the Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft revealed the name of the upcoming Windows 10 update today; the Windows 10 Creators Update will be out in 2017 (likely March).

The company revealed several upcoming features of Windows 10 Creators Update today. While those events get me excited usually, this one in particular did not.

Remember the 3D Builder app that Windows 10 ships with? The announcement felt a lot like that app. Interesting, but nothing that I will ever make use of.

English Pills ESL learning tool for Android

English Pills is a free application for Google Android devices designed for non native English speakers to increase their command of the English language in a fun way.

Most language learners and courses concentrate on the essentials when it comes to that: vocabulary, grammar, writing, reading and conversation are probably the five big areas that are covered.
