TeamViewer 10 final is now available

TeamViewer is a highly popular application for desktop computer systems and mobile devices that enables you to remote control computers over the Internet or use it for online meetings.

At least some of the appeal comes from the fact that it is free for non-commercial users and easy to set up.

If you are the go-to guy (or woman) when it comes to problems with computers in your family, circle of friends or even at work, then the chance is quite high that you are using TeamViewer or have used it in the past.

Fix Udemy videos not loading

As you may know, I started taking courses on the Udemy website recently. They had a black Friday sale recently where you could get hundreds of courses for $10 each.

When I tried to load a course that I was about half-way through yesterday in Firefox I noticed that the course video was not loading anymore.

The course itself displayed fine with its lessons and everything else worked as well. Only the video itself would not load and a blank white page was displayed instead (with the usual header at the top though).

Firefox 34 feels rushed

Mozilla released Firefox 34 yesterday after delaying the release for a week. If you look at user feedback here on this site, on discussion sites such as Reddit or on the official add-ons repository, you may notice that users report quite a few issues in these places.

This article looks at common issues that users experienced after their version of Firefox updated to version 34.

Firefox 34 Find out what is new

Mozilla is rolling out updates for specific versions of the web browser. If you are running a non-stable build you may have already received updates last week as Mozilla postponed the release of the stable version and the ESR version by one week to get additional development time to stabilize development.

This means that stable users will receive the upgrade to version 34, Beta users to 35, Developer Edition (former Aurora) users to version 36, and Nightly users to 37.

Change your location in Firefox using Location Guard

Geolocation, the retrieval of a connecting user's location in the world, can be beneficial to both user and website operator. When you connect o a weather website for instance, it is often the case that you want weather information for the location you are at.

It can also be comfortable to be redirected to a country-specific version of a website.

Display which programs accept or have established Internet connections on Windows

How do you know which programs on Windows have established connections to the Internet or are accepting them? Some programs may reveal the information to you directly while others may not reveal those information to you.

This is especially true for shady applications and those that are outright malicious. If you want to know if a program phones home you need to know how to display those information on the system.

One option that you have is to configure a software or hardware firewall to only allow connections by programs that you have verified on a case by case basis.

First bit of Firefox’s Sandbox lands in Nightly for Windows

One of the reasons why Mozilla is working on a multi-process architecture for Firefox is that it paves the way for a browser sandbox.

The sandbox that the team plans to implement is platform independent and uses the process as security boundary.

Mozilla is using Google's Open Source sandbox that the company uses in Chromium and Google Chrome as the basis for Firefox.
