RekSFV create and bulk check sfv, md5 and sha1 files

RekSFV is a free program for Windows that is available as a portable version and installer that verifies files in bulk using existing sfv, md5 and sha1 information.

The program ships with options to create sfv, md5 or sha1 verification files. To do that, simply click on one of the available icons in the main program window and add one or multiple folders to the prompt that opens up to create verification files.

Please note that the program threw out of memory errors during sfv file generation while the generation of md5 files completed without issues.

PayPal and eBay are splitting up on July 1, and PayPal has just published a preview of the company's new privacy policies that it will release on the same day.

An announcement on PayPal's current Privacy Policy page indicates that the company will release an updated privacy policy that will supersede the current policy on July 1.

Display video thumbnails for popular file types in Windows Explorer

The default file browser of the Windows operating system, Windows Explorer (or File Explorer if you are using Windows 8 or newer), supports several display formats for files.

I prefer the details view most of the time as it highlights more than just a name and an icon. Sometimes however, it is nice to display thumbnails of files directly in the file manager as it may help with recognition.

Some file types are displayed as previews automatically if you select a supporting view mode while others are only shown with default icons and no preview image.

Google releases desktop uploader for its new Photos service

Posteo is a privacy and security focused email service from Germany

Unless you are making sure that you are using encryption when using email, chance is that your emails get read by machines and maybe also individuals as they are not protected by any means.

German email service Posteo just announced an addition to the service's privacy-focused email offering that allows all users to encrypt their mail data with the click of a button.

Posteo is not free but affordable at $1 per month or $12 per year. Users get 2 Gigabyte of free storage for that with options to increase storage for $0.25 per Gigabyte per month.

Latest Vivaldi snapshot introduces interface scaling

The makers of Vivaldi have released a new development snapshot of the browser that introduces several new customization options.

The web browser, which is still only available as a technical preview and as development snapshots, offers already more customization options than most Chromium-based browsers and today's update introduces several new ones.

Probably the most interesting feature of snapshot 1.0.190.2 is the new user interface scaling that the developers have integrated in Vivaldi.
